Picnic Player

The series PICNIC PLAYER emerged in collaboration with the Ukrainian music collective Picnic PlayerIts starting point is quotes from songs, which I translated into digital collages and transformed into autonomous visual worlds. Language is not merely illustrated here, but transferred into visual tensions, ruptures, and associative spaces in which pop, absurdity, memory, and underlying social conditions encounter one another.

The works were pasted in public locations across Berlin in 2020 and conceived specifically for urban space. In this way, the quotes leave their purely musical context and enter into a direct dialogue with the city, its surfaces, movements, and contingencies. PICNIC PLAYER understands itself as a series between music, intervention, and visual poetry — an attempt to transform sound into presence, text into friction, and song lines into new public meanings.
