We Produce, We Objectify People

The series “We Produce, We Objectify People” examines how human beings become objects within a present shaped by production, consumption, and exploitation. Various objects, materials, and image fragments are arranged in multiple layers and condensed into dense compositions. In this way, works emerge in which body, commodity, technology, and staging overlap, and the human increasingly appears as surface, product, and projection screen.

The combination of wood, plexiglass, and various media reinforces this approach on a material level as well: the works are not only collages, but constructed images in which layering, distance, and fixation remain visible. The series was exhibited in Berlin in 2020 at BAS CS Gallery as part of Kolonie Wedding Weekend. The works open up a holistic view of the mechanisms of objectification and ask to what extent social power relations are already inscribed in things, images, and ways of looking.
